Tiers in a sloped garden, Porcelain Paving & Composite Decking

What we were asked to solve

The garden needed a practical redesign rather than a light tidy-up. A slope and tired surfaces left little reliable patio space beside the house, and the lawn no longer worked well for everyday use. Borders and levels were poorly defined, so the outdoor room felt awkward and unfinished. The client wanted a clean hard surface for seating, clearer edges, and a fresh lawn framed by tidy borders — organised so the space could be used comfortably through the seasons.

How we delivered it

We cleared and prepared the site, skimmed and excavated where needed, then built the new layout in stages. Light grey porcelain paving formed a generous patio with a curved edge, and we relaid existing paving where it suited the scheme. Composite decking and treated wooden sleepers created stepped levels, raised beds and retaining on the slope. Black Ice gravel borders with discrete edging and stone borders separated lawn from hard landscaping. Fresh topsoil went into the beds for planting, and we finished with a new turf lawn for a clean, even green.

Outcome for the homeowner

The garden now offers a solid porcelain patio for outdoor living, clear gravel margins and a neat turf lawn ready for everyday use. Levels and edges are organised, the slope is held with sleepers and raised beds, and the whole space looks finished, usable and easier to maintain.
