What we were asked to solve

The garden was hard to use day to day. Tired planting, clutter and the need for proper clearance — including stump removal — left the space looking unfinished and awkward to maintain. The lawn no longer worked as a clean, usable surface, and the client wanted a solid patio area with clear edges rather than a patchy outdoor space. Privacy and a neater boundary were also part of the brief, so the redesign had to bring hard landscaping, lawn and borders together in one practical layout.

How we delivered it

Kandla Grey porcelain paving formed the main patio, laid for a clean, even finish. Close board fencing went in on posts for a solid boundary, with garden walls on a concrete base in standard brick — including raised beds with kerb edging. Black Ice gravel defined the borders and the cut-out around the retained tree, with gravel boards where needed. We brought in top soil, finished with new turf and green planting so the hard surfaces sat neatly against a fresh lawn.

Outcome for the homeowner

The client now has a usable porcelain patio, a defined turf lawn and tidy gravel borders framed by fencing and brick walls. The garden is clearer to maintain, better organised for everyday use and presents a much sharper finish from the house and garden.
