Indian sandstone paving, composite decking, Cotswold buff gravel and slatted fencing for a Darwen garden, finished with retaining walls, edging and top soil.

The starting point in Darwen compared with the finished result.

This Darwen garden needed more than a tidy-up. Levels and surfaces were poorly defined, so everyday use was awkward and there was no clear, hard-wearing patio linked to the house. Boundaries and raised edges lacked structure, borders spilled into paths, and the client wanted a practical layout with proper paving, a decked area, solid retaining walls and smarter fencing. The aim was a joined-up outdoor space that felt finished, held its levels and stayed easy to live with — not another short-term patch-up.
We created two distinct patio areas separated by a softer self-binding gravel & planting zone. We used fence cladding to cover up old walls and colourful brick & edging to add colourful features for planting.
The client now has a clear patio and decked area with solid retaining walls, neat kerb edges and defined borders. Surfaces are tougher for daily use, the garden reads as organised from the house, and the whole space is simpler to maintain.
