Porcelain Patio, Drainage & New Lawn in Fulwood

What we were asked to solve

The garden needed a full reset, not a light tidy. Overgrown greenery, stumps and clutter left the space awkward to use, while soft ground and poor surface-water control made wet weather a problem. Hard surfaces were tired or missing where the client wanted a proper seating area, and the lawn was not fit for everyday family use. They asked us for a clean, well-drained patio, reliable runoff control, defined edges and a fresh lawn so the garden would work in all seasons.

How we delivered it

We began with green clearance and stump removal, then prepared levels with topsoil where needed. Drainage was built in from the start: a French drain, channel drainage and a recessed manhole cover so water could move away cleanly under the new hardstanding. Himalayan White porcelain paving went down on a solid base with kerb edging, and we formed retaining walls on a concrete base in Burford tumbled brick to hold the level change and steps. Black Ice gravel dressed the borders, old fencing panels and gates were removed and replaced with new fencing, and we finished with a new turf lawn for a crisp, usable green.

Outcome for the homeowner

The garden is now a practical outdoor room: a level porcelain patio that stays usable in the wet, controlled runoff at the hard surfaces, neat gravel edges and a lawn ready for everyday use. Brick walls and fresh fencing give a clean finish and stronger presentation from the house.
