Close board fencing, gravel & raised beds
The starting point in Walton-le-Dale compared with the finished result.

The client needed a proper overhaul of both the front garden and the rear garden in Preston. At the rear, tired fencing, cluttered growth and a poorly defined layout left the space hard to use or keep tidy. The front garden lacked structure, with worn edges and surfaces that did little for kerb appeal or everyday access. Clearance of old planting and boundary work was needed so both areas could be rebuilt as practical outdoor spaces rather than a constant chore.
We delivered a full scheme across the front garden and rear garden. After green clearance and removal of old fence posts and panels or gates, we installed close board fencing with trellis for a stronger, cleaner boundary. Garden walls were built on concrete bases in Burford tumbled brick to form raised beds and discrete borders. Hoggin gravel was laid for free-draining, usable surfaces, with topsoil brought in to support the new bed areas. Existing paving was relaid where required, and a timber pergola was installed to give the rear a clear structure and focal point, finishing a practical layout front and back.
Both the front garden and rear garden are now clearer and more usable. The rear offers privacy, raised beds and a structured space under the pergola, while the front presents neater gravel, brick-edged borders and stronger kerb appeal — outdoor areas the client can enjoy with less fuss.
