Emma’s mum had recently moved into her house. With summer coming they wanted to be able to enjoy the garden. It wasn’t a bad garden but it was overgrown, had no area for furniture and tended to get waterlogged. Emma came to us to ask if we could solve all these problems whilst sticking to her budget. After coming up with some good potions, Emma decided to go with the ones detailed below.

What we have done

Image 1 (below) shows the pipe connecting some lawn drainage (just about visible in image 2). Here we dug out a trench in the centre of the lawn and laid a perforated pipe surrounded by gravel. We then laid the soil and turf back on top.
Images 2 and 3 show the new Indian stone paving which was cut to fit the shape of the original flower bed. The Indian stone patio area adds some variety of colour to the garden and provides a nice area for garden furniture and accessories.

Tidying and other bits

The images above show the main work carried out but with most jobs there are lots of little bits that we do as well. Some of the little bits we did here included disposing of old slabs, re-edging the lawn, spreading gravel and revelling some old slabs.
